We invite Pieter Loridon for an interview to learn more about the online coaching platform. We ask him how he is doing, what YOUR WAY OF LIFE actually entails and his future plans with this online platform.

How are you?
Phew… that’s nice that someone asks that, actually this is asked far too little of everyone. Certainly people with a strong character and backbone are asked even less how they are doing, assuming that they are always doing well. Only when it is visible that things are not going well with someone does the question of how they are doing come, but then it is often too late.

But it's going well, the last 2 years have really taken their toll. But I do anticipate these situations, that's why I'm looking forward to the coming months. I will also make sure that the last 2 years will forever be hurt in my emotions and feelings. The division of society and not being welcome as a healthy person, among other things in a restaurant but also the gym, I will never forget. In my eyes this is/was a war, at least that's how it felt from the terrace and being excluded. 

What is YOUR WAY OF LIFE?
In this affluent society it is normal to 'lose your way', that is completely understandable and it is not your fault. 24/7 we receive, consciously or unconsciously, via (image) marketing stimuli with tempting advertisements in which delicious and sugary food can be seen. These marketing campaigns really don't take into account what is really good for us and the bigger picture. So it will have to come from us to find a way in this. With the courses that we offer on this platform, we provide the tools to create the right mindset and know-how, because that is where it all starts. Mind over body.

We want to learn from each other, inspire each other and let each other grow. No bullshit, but commit to yourself for a strong mindset, a healthier body and a balanced life.

We are curious… how did YOUR WAY OF LIFE come about?
I got in touch with a young guy, a bio-hacker. He sent me a video saying he was fasting for 3 days and just did his hardest workout ever after drinking my matcha. At that point I thought: “this guy is crazy”, but… I invited him for a chat and since then I have been researching fasting and its benefits like an obsessed maniac.

At the same time, my father was diagnosed with dementia. I read an article about dementia and in it doctors substantiated that fasting and being in ketosis have a positive effect on our brains and that you can reduce the chance of dementia.

But it didn't stop there, Doctors also saw positive results in people diagnosed with cancer who were undergoing chemotherapy for it, and those who integrated fasting into their daily lives.

All this information made me more fanatical, because without knowing it we are pushing ourselves into the abyss and then you have to hope that medicine can help you with a pill or a treatment... while we can prevent this by putting our own health first and acting accordingly.

What exactly are the positive effects of this lifestyle for you - in the broadest sense?
You get completely different insights into health and society, while the sharpness and focus is unseen. Also how the world works and that is something I will never let go. I have learned to enjoy being clear again, what exactly health entails and my self-image has also changed in a positive way (back).

Your followers have been able to follow your entire journey and transformation via social media. You have lost 19 kilos through the Intermittent Fasting Matchapolitan Lifestyle.
You communicate with your followers in a motivating way… this makes you an inspiration to many. What do you want to tell the people who have registered with the YOUR WAY OF LIFE platform?
I hope people use the screen they are looking at right now. Social media is a great tool, you can learn so much if you have the right people around you and follow them on social media, this way you can connect with each other in a very nice way. If you know how to handle your phone, you can get so much positive energy from it. But learn to fast from people who don't teach you anything. I see so many people thinking too much about what they post or don't post, and how they post something. If your post comes from emotion, you will see and feel this. 

Who do you want to reach with this online platform?
I advise everyone to create their own way of life. Currently there are 2 courses of mine on the online platform, but in the long term coaches will offer their own course here and share their know-how about their expertise.

Everyone is an individual, has different interests and is different… It is then up to the person to decide whether this fits into their own way of life.

What is the highest achievable goal in life for you?
That is really being healthy and if you don’t agree with this answer… you will change your mind when they tell you one day that you have a serious health problem. And that this was partly due to an unhealthy lifestyle. It is our job, and far too few people think about it, to become or be the healthiest version of yourself… and at the same time enjoy life. I repeat… companies are not concerned with our health. It MUST come from us!

You tell your followers on social media that there are some fun things coming up this summer, what exactly is going to happen?
I am going to expand my WAY OF LIFE, but also try to live more minimalistic… I want to feel what marketing campaigns actually do to me and if I feel the urge to keep buying. In short… I'm going to extend 'fasting' into other areas of my life. 

I will go to places that give me energy and where there are possibilities. As I often say: “we are not a tree, we can move”. I want to focus on the next steps abroad and as I say this I am already becoming extremely ambitious and I can already feel the energy rising.

And… can we already give you a sneak peek, who else will join the online platform and what will the next course be?
I'm not going to reveal who will be on the online platform, but this will always be a benchmark where I look at whether it can be an added value for everyone. Mind - body - soul, those are the starting points. And let's be honest... if there are no more surprises in life, there is also less to it. Right? ;-)
